Yorkshire Cosplay Con - Convention Rules

We Hope everyone comes to Yorkshire Cosplay Con to enjoy all the entertainment, traders and activities that we offer. There are a few simple rules that we aske people to follow during your time at the convention. We ask that you follow these rules because they have been put in place to ensure the safety of yourself and others.

Behaviour
  • No running inside the venue.
  • No inappropriate behaviour or lewd behaviour and no profanity near children.
  • No bullying or harassing other people attending our convention
  • Please be polite and courteous to our guests, traders and other attendees
  • Please ask permission before filming or photographing our guests
  • Alcohol may be consumed in the bar areas of the dome only. Please drink responsibly as anyone found to be drunk and disorderly will be asked to leave the premises
  • No one goes on the stage without permission from Yorkshire Cosplay Con staff
  • Always ask for permission before you take a photo or film someone


Cosplay Rules
  • No costumes that are too revealing. Make sure you keep anything that is supposed to be covered up, covered up. Remember we are a family friendly Convention
  • No offensive cosplays or cosplay parts. Items with swear words, anti-religious, fascist or racist images(Swastikas) are not allowed. No cosplays of controversial characters(Hitler, Ebola Chan) or groups(Klu Klux Klan) are not allowed. This is for your safety getting to, from and around the Convention as well as keep everyone at Yorkshire Cosplay Con happy
  • Large Cosplays must be made safe. No pointed sides and no nails or screws sticking out. Coplays should not be bigger than the size of a door frame for health and safety reasons
  • Please keep footwear on at all times


The following rules apply to any weapon and prop. If your cosplay is found to be in breach of these rules, we reserve the right to remove that item from you until the end of the convention.
  • Live Action Roleplay Props (L.A.R.P.) approved weapons are allowed
  • Cosplay Props should ideally be made from cardboard, foam, plastic, material or soft/blunt wood
  • Metal Props are allowed but must be dull/blunt and must be kept under control at all times
  • Toy weapons are allowed but no working ballistics(firing guns, bows arrows, crossbows, etc.)
  • Real Weapons are not allowed
  • No ceramic or Glass props
  • No laser pointers
  • No props that can produce fire
  • No props that uses flammable gasses


Responsibilities
You are responsible for any items that you bring with you to Yorkshire Cosplay Con. You are also responsible for your behaviour, any inappropriate behaviour towards YCC staff, traders, special guest or other attendees will not be tolerated and could result in you be escorted from the premises.

Lost Items
Any item that you have found can be turned into one of the YCC staff members. If you have lost something please contact our DJ so he can make an announcement to see if anyone has found your item. Any items that have been turned into one of our staff members will need to be claimed at the event or up to 1 month after the event. Any unclaimed items after this time will either be given to charity or thrown away.
